Start with the reports already available.
HubSpot documents deal-funnel, deal-change-history, close-date-push and deal-velocity reports. They help identify an area to investigate. Availability and scope depend on the product and subscription.
An unusual funnel segment is initially a question, rather than an explanation. Check that the comparison uses the same pipeline, a relevant segment and a consistent observation window. A changing mix of deals can move a report without any change in operating practice.
A current stage value is not deal history.
Today's CRM record tells you where the deal stands now. It cannot establish the timing of earlier transitions or the activity preceding them. Use actual history and preserve unobserved periods as unknown.
Check the association of each activity. A contact-level meeting does not establish a meeting on every associated opportunity. An imported or calculated timestamp is not automatically a directly observed buyer event.
- Record the pipeline and meaning of each stage.
- Check historical transitions and their timestamps.
- Document activity associations and sources.
- Report cases with insufficient history separately.
Connect reporting to process review.
Use the report to narrow the investigation and deal evidence to examine it. Compare the first relevant continuation after a defined origin. Review an operating rule only after the decision condition is supported.
DriftMirror provides an entry through the existing HubSpot scan page, which describes read-only access. Check which history is available for your dataset; missing data must not be interpreted as inactivity. The defensible findings depend on the specific portal.
Common questions
Do I need to change HubSpot to analyze the pipeline?
A read-only analysis can examine existing records. Whether a subsequent finding calls for a CRM or process change is a separate decision. Historical coverage needs to be checked first.
Can I compare every deal together?
Only when the starting conditions are comparable for the question being investigated. Separate pipelines, sales motions or stages where their decision conditions differ.
